Pantone color of the year- 2014
The season of giving
So Pantone just released the color of the year for 2014 and it is…… None other than Radiant Orchid. Now this color is kind of hard to describe so I just suggest checking out the website to see for your own eyes. But if I had to take a stab is a purpley, pale fuchsia. And let me just tell you, I think I may just be more excited than when Emerald was announced last year. Purple based colors are my favorite because it has the tendency to look good on almost any skin tone. Radiant Orchid is definitely more of a Spring color so I will be interested to see what aspects show up at NYFW fall 2014 in February.
They say it’s the most wonderful time of year and if that’s the case then I have some presents for you.. Through job searching and pure boredom, I found two things every fashionista needs to know about. The first is Dahlia Wolf ( http://www.dahliawolf.com ). On this site you can go and post your inspirations. Other people do the same. They have a point system set up for each activity you do. For example giving one like on someone’s inspiration board gets you a point. Think Lookbook meets Pinterest. Here’s the real amazing part, your inspiration has the potential to be turned into a design if enough likes are achieved. Now how incredible is that?
The other item is an app called Beautylish. It’s free which is even better. What I like about this so much is that it entails articles about fashion, pictures and shopping all in one! Just for signing up I earned $10 off a $50 purchase! I highly suggest you check these two out!
I’ve been trying to become better at accessorizing lately. I think this watch is a good start. Plus it was a steal for $15. How can you beat that?
You know what the hardest thing is?
Everything knowing you’re going to be in Los Angeles in a month and a half. By an amazing act of the Fashion Gods, I was offered an internship with BCBGMaxAzriaGroup. And yes I could not be more excited. However my daily routine consists of questioning if I should change my hair or not, things I should buy, creating to-do lists, forcing myself to exercise and generally ignoring all the mediocrities of the mid-west. So yeah that’s kind of where I’m at. Oh and I forgot to include freaking out at the fact that I am going to be living in a huge city I’ve never been in and know no one. But it’s ok, I will do anything for fashion.
